2003 Toyota Tundra TRD/SC

In the late 90s/early 2000s, Toyota let TRD do some pretty awesome things. This truck was no exception. The 2uz was first supercharged put in a Tundra in 2000 and it came with one additional injector. In 2003 however, they introduced a new 9th and 10th injector blower. From all I can find, not many of these were necessarily factory produced and most were “ordered” or dealer installed. This truck was not only supercharged but also came with a TRD package giving it a limited slip rear differential and a full TRD exhaust. All in all, this was hands down one of the neatest Toyota trucks I’ve yet to own.

When I bought the truck it was unfortunately running without the TRD piggyback ecu and had been sitting for quite some time due to this. Sadly, TRD discontinued all of the supercharger engine management parts that they made. Thankfully for me (and this truck) Unichip makes a plug and play piggyback kit. With that added, a good baseline tune up, and some more tasteful wheels and tires, this rig came around really well. A previous owner had added a leveling kit and some firestone bags in the rear so clearing 33.3” tires was easy. All of this paired with an ARB front bar and awesome deep blue paint, this truck was pretty easy on the eyes.

This truck has been sold and is still living here in Sandpoint! I’m stoked to see it and hopefully hear it more around town.
